Christmas Festivities Begin!

Christmas is in the air and that means family, food and a most importantly the birth of our Savior! We start the weekend before Christmas each year with Jack’s family. Last year we went to Arkansas, but this year everyone agreed it might be a little easier to come here. We were grateful for that decision!

Jack’s brother John, his wife Christina and their 2 girls, Kelley and Kacey came into town on Friday night. Saturday morning Jack’s dad, Jack and his wife April also arrived for the remainder of the weekend. Kelley and Kacey loved playing with the babies and were a huge help feeding and entertaining them.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Bass Pro to do some shopping, but to also see Santa. They had lots of neat activities for kids and free pictures with Santa. Here are the girls playing something with Daddy....they thought it was so interesting.

I thought the babies might be a little scared of the big man with the long beard, but nope, they were great.

Later that evening we headed to eat at Fish Camp to celebrate Jack’s Dad’s birthday dinner. The food and company were great! They even had a guy playing the guitar in the restaurant which made it even more entertaining and fun. The evening we opened gifts and the babies got a triplet teeter totter, so cute!!

Sunday the Arkansas family headed home and we went to church. My cousin Gary, his wife Alicia and their children Jacob, Joseph and Faith met us at church. Gary only gets 3 Sunday’s off during the year, and I am so grateful that they chose to spend one of those Sunday’s with us. After church we all came to our house for some homemade chili and just a time to visit and relax. The babies loved having more company around and Faith LOVED being a helper and holder of the babies.

That afternoon we headed to East Texas for the Kasling Family Christmas. We had a great dinner, had our gift exchange, and even got suckered into singing the 12 days of Christmas as an entire family and recording to laugh at later. It was quite hilarious, but Aunt Robin you did a good job getting us all organized for the big production .

The babies loved the paper from all the gifts, and were quite entertained with the people and all the action going on. We fed the babies, put their pj’s on them and headed back to Royse City about 9 on Sunday.

Whew, I am tired just writing this post. It was a super busy weekend, but so much fun and a wonderful time with those we love. Plus, the babies were worn out and by Monday, I had no problem getting them back on track and taking their naps.
The Christmas fun is just beginning…
