Dallas Christmas Parade

Every year my Uncle Kelly and cousin Jill are friendly clowns in the Children's Christmas parade in downtown Dallas. Last year was so fun to take the triplets and watch them with their wide eyes as floats pass by, however this year not only were they enthralled with all the sights, but had something to say about EVERYTHING!
It wasn't exactly cold at this parade...about 80 degrees!
Here is Curious George, they were SO excited to see him drive by!

Daddy was proud of the USMC band...
And then of course the sweet clown family! Such fun!

Only in Texas...

Only in Texas can you take Christmas pictures and be barefoot....
This picture was captured, somehow, of all babies looking at the camera and looking happy! Chrystel was so sweet to meet us for a photo session, and I am grateful for the amazing images. More to come in your Christmas card, you're going to have to wait.

The Christmas tree is up, the babies are excited and "Santa is watching!" Everyday Wyatt is wondering when Santa will be here. We have talked about Jesus' birthday and remind them this is why we celebrate, but they are pretty excited about seeing Santa at the upcoming Christmas parade. I'm sure the next 4 will be pretty exhausting reminding them Santa isn't here quite yet.

Tis the season for fun, family and daily reminder of the birth of our King!

Veterans Day 2012

If there is one thing I hope our children know and understand, are the sacrifices their Daddy made for our freedom.  It is not without much pain, sadness and hardship that he left the states 3 different times to serve over seas. I am so grateful he went into the military, otherwise our paths may never have crossed, but the serving, waiting and worrying I think aged us both many years.

We have a wooden trunk in our home that is filled with memories from his Iraq tours. This Veteran's day however, I was determined to complete a scrapbook I had started many years ago highlighting certain pictures of his brothers in the Marines, along with newspaper clippings, letters and mementos of his military journey.

I was excited the babies were interested to see the pictures and know what was going on.

One day I pray that our babies understand what their Daddy had to endure. That he truly is a Hero!

It's Fall Ya'll...

Well it's fall in Texas...what does that mean!?!? Well as far as weather goes, it means one day it is 80 degrees and the next day it's 40. It has been more challenging this year for me to know how to dress my kids for the day! Fall means pumpkins, hay rides, leaves falling and even better, a ton of fun things to do on Royse City Main Street.

This year we attended the Grand Opening of the Pumpkin Patch on Main Street. There were pony rides, face painting and great photo opportunities.

This year we decided to go with the "Three Little Monkey" theme. They LOVE Curious George and were not opposed to the costumes so I went with it. The babies did a great job getting their costumes on. We really only did 1 trial run with the costumes so I was pretty pleased with their cooperation. I'm pretty sure the bribery of candy had something to do with it. :) They don't get much cuter than this...
First trick or treat spot was to our neighbors across the street, Mr. Bud & Joan's house...
Then off to "Trick or Treat on Main Street" which is a fun event for all ages, and this year was actually on Halloween night.

The following week we decided to take the kids to the Texas State Fair. The weather was perfect and it was such a great memory to have as a family. They were all about the farm animals and corn dogs. The girls were excited about about the rides, but Wyatt, not so much!

As you can see Jessy really enjoyed driving the car...
Special memories with my amazing little family. Blessed.

Look WHO's ONE! Layla Rose!

Happy 1st Birthday Layla Rose...your Aunt Sissy loves you! This precious angel is the happiest baby I know! She is so even tempered, so laid back and just a blast to spend time with. The triplets and I had a great time celebrating with everyone on her big day.
The WHO Owl cake was precious...and of course Wyatt was ALL about the cake.
And the little Diva herself. Walking all around the house...she is one cute baby girl! We love you Layla Rose!

First School Party

What a blessing to attend all my babies school functions. I truly feel so lucky to experience all of these fun milestones! This was the babies FIRST school "party." Instead of dressing the up in their monkey costumes, the ones they will wear for Halloween, I thought what better than their favorites ELMO!

When I arrived they were finishing up a spooky spider craft. I was amazed at how well they were all sitting there paying attention and following instructions.

Food time! Of course Jessy is smiling...she is all about her snacks!
Happy Fall everyone...we are excited about cooler weather, outdoor activities and more! I'm sure Daddy will get a few deer as well within the next few months.

Pigs & Outdoor Fun

We are so blessed to have such amazing friends in our life. Our Church family has helped from the very beginning, and truly is the definition and meaning of "it takes a village." One of the most special families in our lives are the Berry's; Jeff, Lezlee, Madi and Lawton. From the very beginning of the triplet pregnancy, the Berry's have played an instrumental part of our ups and downs, through it all.

They have a recent love for pigs! They have been involved through FFA in Royse City, and have raised, cared for, loved on and showed pigs for Royse City ISD. On this certain day, it was just too beautiful not to be out and meet the pigs. Of course the babies LOVED it and were so excited!

Here are Lawton and Wyatt getting close enough to "pet" the little piggies...
Madi is training Jessy on how to "show." With stick in hand, Jessy is excited and of course has no fear of taking control.

Our family loves the outdoors, and mostly because the Daddy loves the outdoors. I give him full credit on the passion the babies have to be outside. I can't wait until we have camping trips, road trips, camp fires and more with my amazing little family. I captured this image while were out exploring at Sabine Creek Ranch.
I am in love with each of them!

30 Month Check Up

Oh the world of 2.5 year olds!!! It is quite the task, quite the challenge and even more the joy. It is truly amazing how fast they are learning, how much they pick up, and how much they wear me out!!!! They are SUPER active and more independent. They play together well, but just like normal siblings, get on each others nerves. People ask me often if they pair up or play with someone over another. The answer is yes, but it changes by the day. Sometimes 2 will pair up and the 3rd will play alone, and the next day it will switch around.

Here we are in the waiting room at the doctors office for their check up...
Somehow I didn't get pictures of each baby....probably something to the effect that they were being wild in the exam room and I wasn't thinking about it. BUT at least you get 1/3 of the crew.
Here are their stats...
Abigail 29 pounds, 36.5 inches
Wyatt 30 pounds, 35.75 inches
Jessy Grace 30 pounds, 5 ounces - 36.5 inches

NO shots at this appointment, YEAH!! They are all growing strong and developing well. They still have really bad allergies, but other than that there is nothing medically an issue. Jack and I are so blessed to have healthy babies! Can't even believe it has been almost 3 years!!

Ducks with Grammy and Pop-Pop

A visit to Dallas and to White Rock Lake means a special time to feed the ducks. Special time with Grammy & Pop Pop watching and feeding the ducks.
The girls were not scared at all! They were brave and wanted to get as close to the water as possible!

Too sweet and too special.

Summer Time Fun

I don't think it gets much cuter than this!!!!!!
WOW I am one lucky MoM. This is a daily summer activity around the Self household. We love our pool and love being outside this time of year. It may be 110 outside, but Daddy will bring home 10 bags of ice and we get the pool cool again. Super fabulous memories with my little swimming babies.

We also love to go to Grammy's house and swim too! She has a hot tub, so it is a perfect size for the babes. Let me tell you these kids are FISH. We have taken swim lessons and that has really helped their confidence and skill. I can't imagine how much they will learn next summer!
Grammy with her trio!
Anything we can do outdoors are a plus! From bubbles and paint to icicle pops are part of our daily summer routine.

Another perk over the summers are visitors! We also had a great summer visit with the Fite family, Ava, George and Katie. The triplets LOVE Ava and George, and when we get together we always have a great time. This summer we had a chance to play at the splash park in Royse City and picnic afterwards.
We hope to have many memories with the Fite family and are so grateful for their friendship. Their love for our babies is precious, and the love we have for each other's family is super special.
Grateful for these special memories.

First Day of Mother's Day Out

June has been quite the month of milestones for this MoMma. One of the big events that took place this month was sending the babies to Mother’s Day Out. Jack and I had them registered for the Fall, however when I found out there were 3 spots available for the summer…we had quick conversation and both agreed we were ready! It would give me 10 hours a week to work, get house chores actually complete and take some stress off of me. I am grateful for the means to be able to send them to First Baptist Church here in Royse City.

Because I was unsure how the whole nap time would work, we practiced the day before with out nap mats. Um....they LOVED them!
Here is our set up getting ready with lunches and back packs....
And then, here are my angel babies. Excuse me, when did they get to be like little people exactly? I have NO idea where the time went. Mimi was there to help get them ready to be there by 9 and Jack met us at the Church. Here is their first "school" picture.
Their teachers name is Miss. Meggan and Miss. Claire. Both are so sweet and really have a love for children.
And a few shots of them already playing and having a great time!
They did great when I left, no crying...instead excited to play with new toys!
I came home after dropping them off and was not quite sure to do with myself. It was quiet and still....however, I quickly snapped out of that stillness and got to work around the house and in the office. The time they are at MDO has really helped my stress, and even better the babies have already learned SO much. They were excited when I picked them up at 2 pm that day!
