Veterans Day 2012

If there is one thing I hope our children know and understand, are the sacrifices their Daddy made for our freedom.  It is not without much pain, sadness and hardship that he left the states 3 different times to serve over seas. I am so grateful he went into the military, otherwise our paths may never have crossed, but the serving, waiting and worrying I think aged us both many years.

We have a wooden trunk in our home that is filled with memories from his Iraq tours. This Veteran's day however, I was determined to complete a scrapbook I had started many years ago highlighting certain pictures of his brothers in the Marines, along with newspaper clippings, letters and mementos of his military journey.

I was excited the babies were interested to see the pictures and know what was going on.

One day I pray that our babies understand what their Daddy had to endure. That he truly is a Hero!

It's Fall Ya'll...

Well it's fall in Texas...what does that mean!?!? Well as far as weather goes, it means one day it is 80 degrees and the next day it's 40. It has been more challenging this year for me to know how to dress my kids for the day! Fall means pumpkins, hay rides, leaves falling and even better, a ton of fun things to do on Royse City Main Street.

This year we attended the Grand Opening of the Pumpkin Patch on Main Street. There were pony rides, face painting and great photo opportunities.

This year we decided to go with the "Three Little Monkey" theme. They LOVE Curious George and were not opposed to the costumes so I went with it. The babies did a great job getting their costumes on. We really only did 1 trial run with the costumes so I was pretty pleased with their cooperation. I'm pretty sure the bribery of candy had something to do with it. :) They don't get much cuter than this...
First trick or treat spot was to our neighbors across the street, Mr. Bud & Joan's house...
Then off to "Trick or Treat on Main Street" which is a fun event for all ages, and this year was actually on Halloween night.

The following week we decided to take the kids to the Texas State Fair. The weather was perfect and it was such a great memory to have as a family. They were all about the farm animals and corn dogs. The girls were excited about about the rides, but Wyatt, not so much!

As you can see Jessy really enjoyed driving the car...
Special memories with my amazing little family. Blessed.
