As you all read the blood pressure was the factor that caused the quick delivery. Early Wednesday morning I woke up with increasingly high pressure readings, threw up my dinner and starting coughing like I was getting sick. The nurse came in to tell us the plan and within 20 minutes we met the doctor on call and were in the OR. It was scary, however I knew it was best for the babies and for me at that point. The cesarean was scary, but I managed and Jack was an amazing support. WOW, I could not have done it without him! He has the big event recorded so if you are interested, he is excited to show. Here are a few shots of the babies as they were delivered.

After the babies were born I was sent to recovery for I believe 2 hours. I remember friends and family coming in and out, and felt at that point I was fine. However...the worse was yet to come. My blood pressure did not go down, I had to be placed on a drip of magnesium so that I would not seize. I was hot, cold, itchy....just plain miserable! I felt like I was going crazy and the next day found out it had only been 1 day, I thought it was for sure at least 4 days in one. Because I was so sick and not stable I was not able to see the babies right away or even during the day at all. It was so sad and so hard. By the end of the evening I had passed 8 liters of fluid and the preeclampia was managed by the magnesium and other medications given through 4 different shots.
Finally at 3 am the nurse came in to wake me up and let me know that because of my stability now, I would be able to relocate to our room and be taken through the NICU. I was put on a stretcher and taken to see the most precious babies in the entire world.
Although the last 72 hours have been a whirlwind, I have the most special job!!! To love and hold these bundles. Abigail, Wyatt and Jessy Grace are doing amazing! The nurses keep reminding me how great they are doing for 33 week triplets and how proud I must be. All I can say is to give glory up above, because without the prayers and love from our God, friends and family we would have nothing. All three babies are on feeding tubes through their little noses, and IV with vitamins and nutrients, and are under a warmer. They are not in an incubator, but basically a lamp to help regulate their temperature. The girls are both increasing their feeds each day and are now up to 15 cc's. Wyatt is doing better, but had a few set backs with feeding and is up to 10 cc's now. Within the next few days they will start bottle feeding to see how they do and increase daily and go from there. Once they eat more, they will gain more weight which will help with

The NICU nurses are amazing and take such great care of each of them. We still don't know how long they will be here, but each day is a milestone and we are just thankful they are all breathing on their own!!! Praise be to God!
I also know it is hard for people to understand, but the type of environment they are in does not allow for visitors. I know so many people are disappointed and thought they would have a chance to see the babies, but it is for their own safety. The sterile environment allows the babies to be safe from disease and especially the H1N1 virus and RSV, an upper respiratory infection. I know so many people are ready to see the Self Triplets, but know that when they are home they will be healthier and it will be even more fun to see them that way!
The hardest part will be to leave them today. Of course I know they are in great hands, but being so close to them and not going home with them does not seem right. I am praying they will come home soon and we will all be together so quick! Until then please pray for more patience and strength for both Jack and I as we go back and forth to be with the babies as much as we can.
